Vampires & Villagers 1 gr. B

 Today we studied a series of pictures to introduce the new sequence. The first of them was an engraving (une gravure) ; there were men, and a skeleton in the foreground (au premier plan). We couldn't see clearly what the men were doing : maybe they were putting away ashes, or were colonizing the New World.

It also looks like a village that is fighting evil, trying to exorcise this evil by digging out a skeleton.

In the distance, we could see other men. The man in the foreground looks like he's praying. He's using tools, like a pickaxe and a stake.

What do we need a stake for ? for killing vampires...

Points teachers can kill students  it's the school resonsablity for us to feel safe.  students could take the gun and use it against other sutdents.  it's better for the teachers gun license  Not the responsability of the school, it is the respnsability of the police.  yes but the teacher can not say if he has a gun, nobody knows if he has a gun     Questions  would you agree if your teachers had a gun ? Gun Control 1 gr A

 Today we studied a passage from a 1992 movie entitled (=called) Falling Down .  We stopped the video several times ( plusieurs fois ) and wondered : What's going to happen next ? A man wants breakfast in a fast food restaurant, but it's too late. He doesn't ask the manager why there is no breakfast on the menu, but he just asks the manager if it's possible to have a breakfast. He didn't say it, but we feel that he thinks, "I didn't eat/haven't eaten this morning, I'm hungry." He also checks his watch, the time limit is just a few minutes off. The manager starts being angry and disrespectful, and we believed the customer would make a scene. After a while, the customer takes out a bag. What is in the bag ? (money / guns to menace/threaten the manager / a costume ?)
