 Today we studied a series of pictures to introduce the new sequence. The first of them was an engraving ( une gravure ) ; there were men, and a skeleton in the foreground ( au premier plan ). We couldn't see clearly what the men were doing : maybe they were putting away ashes, or were colonizing the New World. It also looks like a village that is fighting evil, trying to exorcise this evil by digging out a skeleton. In the distance, we could see other men. The man in the foreground looks like he's praying. He's using tools, like a pickaxe and a stake. What do we need a stake for ? for killing vampires...

 After correcting the test, we started our new sequence with a series of pictures. Here is what we said : In the foreground, we could see two men and a skeleton in a coffin ( cercueil ). They discovered this skeleton after digging with a pickaxe ( pioche ). There was smoke coming from the dead body. In the background, there are people from the church with a cross. There is also a group of warriors or soldiers.  They all came to kill a vampire. They use a stake ( un pieu )
